Arsenal are close to completing the £60million capture of Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir, according to reports.
The Gunners are expecting to lose Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez in January.
Both players’ contracts are due to expire at the end of the season and Arsene Wenger is expected to cash in on them when the window reopens, rather than lose them for free at the end of the campaign.
And the Frenchman has already lined up the perfect replacement.
According to the Daily Star, a deal to bring playmaker Fekir over the English channel is “almost done.”
Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has previously referred to the 24-year-old as “my Lionel Messi.”
And he has scored 12 goals in 15 appearances this season.
If the deal is complete then Fakir would once again link up with ex-Lyon teammate Alexandre Lacazette.
He would also break the club’s record transfer fee, which currently stands at £52m, which they spent on Lacazette.
The Gunners are reportedly holding out for £30m for Ozil, which would be put towards the Fekir deal.
And if they can get a similar fee for Sanchez then it could appear a sound bit of business.
Fekir is currently under contract with the Ligue 1 outfit until 2020.
