Arsenal are considering making a bid for Real Sociedad right back Alvaro Odriozola.
This is according to Calcio Mercato via the Daily Cannon, which claim Wenger wants the 22 year old to provide cover for Hector Bellerin.
Bellerin was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona in the summer and it was widely reported in Spain that he wouldn’t mind returning to the Camp Nou but Wenger blocked the move.
Barcelona are expected to return for the defender in the future and I wouldn’t even be surprised if they are linked with him in the coming winter transfer window.
It is unlikely Arsenal would allow Bellerin leave easily as he still has about five years left in his contract.
However, Arsenal currently have Bellerin as its only right back option and may need to sign a back up for the Spaniard.
Mathieu Debuchy has been frozen out of the first team and will most likely leave in the winter transfer window.
Odriozola could be an ideal back up for Bellerin as he will provide quality competition.
The one-capped Spain international has provided three assists in 10 games for Real Sociedad this season and still has five years left in his contract.
