Chelsea will reportedly lock horns with Juventus in signing Atletico Madrid defender Stefan Savic, according to Sky Italy .
Savic, formerly of Manchester City, has spent three seasons at Atletico, he was later signed for £6m in 2011 by Roberto Mancini but managed just 11 top-flight appearances before departing for Fiorentina in 2015.
The 27-year-old Montenegro international made 36 appearances for the club last season.
Chelsea are in the market for a centre-back with David Luiz increasingly likely to leave Stamford Bridge after he was frozen out of Antonio Conte’s plans last term.
Gary Cahill’s form was inconsistent last term, although Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen showed signs of promise.
According to Sky Italia, both the Blues and Juve are in the hunt for Savic.
It is said that the duo have already held negotiations over a summer deal for the Montenegro international, who has previous Premier League experience having turned out for Manchester City.
The report further claims Chelsea are in pole position in signing him as Savic fancy a move back to the Premier League.
