Jose Mourinho wants Manchester United to sign Chelsea target Alex Sandro this summer as he looks to replace Luke Shaw ahead of next season.
A number of players have emerged as potential replacements for Shaw, 22, but Mourinho has narrowed his search to the Brazilian Sandro, according to Manchester Evening News.
Chelsea on their own part see Sandro as a perfect replacement for Real Madrid target Marcos Alonso, and are prepared to swoop in for the Juve ace.
United have been linked with moves for Tottenham defender Danny Rose and Celtic ace Kieran Tierney but Sandro is now Mourinho’s first-choice target to replace the struggling Shaw.
He also starred in the Champions League, helping Juventus knock Tottenham out of the competition before their own European dream was ended by Real Madrid.
Mourinho is keen to sign a new left-back as Shaw’s career at Manchester United appears to be drawing to a close.
He has played just once since mid-March.
Sandro could be one of a number of defenders to arrive at the Theatre of Dreams this summer, with United also expressing interest in Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin and Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld.
