According to report from The Sun, Chelsea new manager Maurizio Sarri is on the brink of completing a deal for his second summer signing since appointed as head coach on last week Saturday.
The report claims Chelsea have won the race for the CSKA Moscow star Aleksandr Golovin who has been heavily linked with a move to Monaco, Arsenal and Juventus.
Daniele Rugani, Alisson and Leon Bailey have all been linked with a move to Chelsea but Golovin seems to be the latest star to have been tipped could join the Blues in less than 72 hours, according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla.
The 22-year-old shone for Russia as the host nation shocked everyone by making the quarter-finals.
Golovin scored seven goals in 38 appearances for CSKA who finished two points behind champions Lokomotiv in the Russian top flight.
New Chelsea boss Sarri has already agreed terms with the 22-year-old as his mother let it slip he was on his way to West London.
Meanwhile, Chelsea will hold talks with Juventus over a move for Gonzalo Higuain. It’s understood that Maurizio Sarri is keen to work with the striker again, the pair worked with each other at Napoli, according to the London Evening Standard.
Talks have been scheduled for Wednesday, and it’s reported that the fee for Higuain will be in the region of £53M, earning £127,000 per week.
