Chelsea vs Stoke City
English Premier League
Date: Saturday, 30 December 2017
Kick-Off: 15:00 UK
Venue: Stamford Bridge (London).

Chelsea clinched an easy 2-0 win over the recently-promoted Brighton & Hove Albion side in mid-week to narrow the gap behind the second-placed Manchester United to only a single point. The reigning champions will have an opportunity to jump over the Red Devils in the second-placed at least for a couple of hours (Mourinho’s men will play Southampton in the evening fixture later that day) this Saturday when they host Stoke City at Stamford Bridge.

Antonio Conte’s men have done well without being prolific lately. The main reason lies in the rock-solid defensive line which helped the champions keep their net untouched in three straight league outings. The Italian manager would still hope to see his attack produce more and he will clearly be encouraged with the fact his star man up front, Alvaro Morata, bagged a goal in the mentioned victory over the Seagulls on Tuesday.

Morata thus took his league tally to nine goals and he should have plenty of room to deliver this Saturday against the weakest defensive line in the competition. The Potters have been playing hot and cold throughout the entire campaign, but their defensive showings have been just horrendous so far. Away from home it’s three losses and two draws in last five games for the team led by Mark Hughes and we sincerely doubt they’ll start a winning streak against the defending champions in London.

Chelsea vs Stoke City: Predictions

Chelsea have won six on the bounce in front of the home crowd in the Premier League and we have all reasons to believe they’ll extend the positive run in the final fixture of the year for them.

We’ll also stick to Alvaro Morata who will be motivated to end the year with double digits by his name in the Premier League scorers record.

Chelsea vs Stoke City: Head-to-head

Chelsea have been entirely dominant against the Potters lately, winning each of their three previous ties.

The Blues have scored an impressive tally of ten goals in last three meetings with Stoke City.

This includes a demolishing 0-4 win for Conte’s side at Bet365 Stadium in late-September this year.
