After being rested for the goalless draw against Arsenal in the EFL Cup, Gary Cahill and Tiemoue Bakayoko are expected to be recalled for the home meeting with Leicester City.
Cahill is likely to join Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta in the three-man defence, with Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz the alternatives.
Davide Zappacosta provides a possible option at right wing-back in place of Victor Moses, although the Nigerian international has started the last six in the league.
Bakayoko is more likely to replace Danny Drinkwater, with Cesc Fabregas set to retain his start if Antonio Conte sticks with the 3-5-1-1.
That would see Eden Hazard operate in a central support role behind lone striker Alvaro Morata. Alternatively, a switch to a 3-4-2-1 could see Pedro or Willian replace Fabregas in the starting XI.
Ross Barkley is working his way back to fitness and may make his Chelsea debut in the FA Cup third round replay against Norwich City.
