Manchester United vs Southampton
English Premier League
Date: Saturday, 30 December 2017
Kick-Off: 17:30 UK
Venue: Old Trafford (Manchester).

Manchester United continued to struggle as they’ve failed to get the result on Tuesday barely fighting it out to a 2-2 draw with Burnley in front of the home crowd at Old Trafford. It was the third consecutive game without a win for the team led by Jose Mourinho. Can the Red Devils return on the winning ways this Saturday when they are to host Southampton in the last game of the day at Old Trafford?

This should not be a super challenging task for the Portuguese manager given Southampton’s poor spell of form in the recent weeks. The Saints are winless in last seven games in the Premier League and they will travel to Old Trafford without their star man and top scorer Charlie Austin who is sidelined due to injury.

Mauricio Pellegrino’s side has been very easy to break down lately and they’ll head into this on the back of a demolishing 5-2 loss to Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley (a hat-trick from Harry Kane). Such form will be the music to the ears of the Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku who failed to find the target in last three matches.

Lukaku has 10 goals to his name in this term of Premier League and he should really be in position to add to this tally past the struggling defense of Southampton’s on Saturday. Another major threat to Saints’ goal should come from Jesse Lingard who has been the most prolific figure in Mourinho’s squad recently. The youngster has completed a brace after coming on as a substitute at the start of the second-half against Burnley.
