Jack Wilshere missed the 3-0 defeat to Manchester City with a minor ankle problem and given the short turnaround before the trip to Brighton & Hove Albion, may be ruled out once again.

So if Arsene Wenger wants to change things in midfield, Mohamed Elneny could challenge Granit Xhaka for a start alongside Aaron Ramsey.

If the Gunners boss sticks with an attacking 4-2-3-1 formation, Alex Iwobi may be considered to replace Danny Welbeck in the attacking midfield trio.

Other changes appear unlikely in attack, while with Nacho Monreal a doubt due to a back problem, it’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles who provides the alternative to Sead Kolasinac at left-back.

Calum Chambers and Rob Holding are the other options available to Wenger in central defence. Alexandre Lacazette and Santi Cazorla are both out.
