Ander Herrera was forced off with a muscle injury in the goalless draw with Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League and looks certain to miss the home meeting with Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho played with a three-man midfield in Spain, so Paul Pogba should be recalled, perhaps alongside Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic.

The United boss started with Juan Mata in the front three alongside Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez on Wednesday night, but the Spaniard could drop to the bench, with Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford the possible replacements.

Phil Jones missed out in midweek due to a knock and remains doubtful. Victor Lindelof partnered Chris Smalling against Sevilla, and with Eric Bailly short of match sharpness, they may retain their starts in central defence.

After Ashley Young started in Spain, Luke Shaw may push for a recall at left-back. Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo remain doubtful, while Marouane Fellaini is still out.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is back in training but is unlikely to feature.
