AC Milan are interested in signing Antonio Conte, according to reports.
Just last week, reports emerged that Conte is unhappy at Chelsea, after the club failed to back him in the summer with his preferred targets.
The injury to Alvaro Morata has left Chelsea light in the centre forward position and signing a back up striker was one of Conte’s priority but the club’s reluctance to make a concrete bid gave Tottenham Hotspur the chance to sign Llorente who was the Italian’s target.
Conte’s interview about how he misses Italy has exaggerated speculations linking him with a move away from Chelsea but reports in his homeland has taken a step further.
According to Corriere Dello Sport via the Daily Star, Conte is a target of AC Milan.
The Italian giants are believed to be on the verge of axing their current boss Vincente Montella and Conte would be a perfect signing for them.
Chelsea haven’t given any indication that they are ready to part with Conte, so ut is expected that the Blues will want to hold on to the manager beyond the current campaign especially if he does well this season.
Should Milan happen to axe their current boss, Conte will definitely be linked with the job. It was the same thing with Inter in the summer when they wanted a new manager, so I wouldn’t expect less if AC Milan begins to look for a manager, especially after Conte has stated he is eyeing a return to the Serie A.
