According to reports from the Sky Sports, Manchester United could be without Anthony Martial next season as the French man has revealed he wants out due to lack of game time at Old Trafford.
The former Monaco man was left out of his nation’s squad for the tournament in Russia by head coach Didier Deschamps.
However, Deschamps has pinned the blame on Martial and says he’s a ‘level below’ the standard in the France squad.
Meanwhile, Martial’s agent Philippe Lamboley, told French media the player has decided he wants to leave United, despite the club’s desire to agree a contract extension.
Lamboley said the parties have not been able to agree a deal in negotiations which stretch back to last year.
“I think that when Manchester United, which is the most powerful club in the world it must be remembered, do not find an agreement in eight months of negotiations, it is because they do not really want to make him an important member of the team,” said Lamboley. “That’s the root of this decision. It is a well-considered decision.”
Mourinho put Martial among a number of players under criticism for a performance last season, but later praised the 22-year-old forward stating it was “like having a new player”.
Tottenham tried signing him before he opted to sign for United for £36million in 2015, he finished the season with just 18 Premier League starts and nine league goals.
