Manchester City duo Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany have warned the club are ready to focus on the Premier League after beating Arsenal 3-0 to win the Carabao Cup at Wembley.
Manchester City scooped their first trophy under Pep Guardiola by beating Arsenal at Wembley to win the Carabao Cup.
Aguero and Kompany were both on target with David Silva adding a third in the second half.
It means City already have one trophy in the bank and, with the Premier League title all but wrapped up, everybody is expecting at least one more.
And Aguero and Kompany have now warned the club’s rivals that Manchester City are ready to build on this success.
“For me and the team it’s a special trophy,” Aguero told Sky Sports when quizzed on how he felt after the game.
“We are very happy. It’s important for us, the team, the staff and the club.
“We have to keep going. We will celebrate and then focus on the Premier League.”
Kompany added: “It was a difficult game but we did really well. I’m really proud of the team performance.
“It’s a massive result.”
Meanwhile, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp thinks today’s win is the start of something special for Guardiola’s men.
“This club is creating a dynasty. They’ve got so much potential,” he said.
“They deserve it and it’s quite scary for everyone in the Premier League and in Europe.
“They can dominate everything.”
