Arsenal’s Theo Walcott is set to leave the club, with AC Milan considering a loan move for the winger in January, according to reports from Italy.

The former England international who hasn’t started a league game for Arsenal this season, only coming off the bench twice, has just a year and half left on his contract, and Wenger currently prefers Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi to him.

He however is no short of admirers, with AC Milan, Everton and his former club Southampton all interested in his services.

The Italian club are struggling with Financial Fair Play regulations according to the Italian media, but they still need reinforcement.

The Daily Cannon believes they are looking for pace out wide, so they see Walcott as a reasonable option and are looking to bring him in on a loan deal with an option to buy later if possible.

However, they face competition from Southampton who just came into some money after selling defender Virgil van Dijk for £75 million, and will be in good position to compete for their former academy product.

The Daily Cannon also says the forward prefers to stay in England where he has spent the whole of his career so far, and go back to his former club where he is still highly rated.

If ever a time is right for Walcott to move it’s now, he has etched his name in Arsenal’s history with over 100 goals for the club in his 11 year stay at the club, at 28 he has one more chance at a big contract elsewhere where he can make another impact.

What do you think, should Walcott leave? Or does he have a realistic chance if he stays and fight for a place in the first team? Drop your comments below.
