Arsenal are the bookies’ favourites to sign Manchester United defender Phil Jones in the summer.
The England international has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford following a series of poor performances and Manchester United could cash in with his contract expiring next year.
Arsene Wenger is expected to strengthen his leaky defence at the end of the season and Coral have Jones at evens to head to north London.
“Arsenal have been heavily backed in the market for Phil Jones’ next club and it looks as though if he does move on then The Gunners are in pole position to snap him up,” Coral spokesman Harry Aitkenhead said.
It was claimed that Jones and team-mate Paul Pogba had a bust-up with Jose Mourinho in the wake of the 1-0 defeat at Newcastle earlier last month.
Mourinho reportedly blamed the duo for the loss but United chiefs swiftly denied the reports.
A Red Devils source told the Daily Star: “Reports of a bust-up in the dressing room following the Newcastle match are total rubbish.”
Jones has featured 21 times in the Premier League this season but is yet to make an appearance in the Champions League.
Blackburn academy graduate Jones joined United in 2011 for a fee worth up to £17million.
Speaking last summer, Mourinho indicated Jones could become a top-class defender.
“He’s potentially a very good player,” the Portuguese said. “He’s still young. He’s still in a learning age but for years and years and years he was injury-prone.”
Jones has made 188 appearances in total for the club and won 24 England caps.
