Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia has set her sight on a move for Antoinne Greizmann.
Greizmann who has become one of Europe’s top players was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United at the end of last season but the Spanish club’s inability to overturn their transfer ban meant the striker couldn’t move to England.
It is believed that the striker who recently revealed he stayed at Atletico because of the clause, would be keen on a move to England next season and Chelsea could now be strong contenders for his signature.
According to the Express, Gravnoskaia wants to make up for her failings in this just concluded transfer window by signing Greizmann next year.
The club transfer chief infuriated Conte by missing out on majority of the manager’s top targets and she wants to appease the boss by signing Greizmann next year.
Chelsea failed to spend big on most its top targets in the summer but the report claims Granovskaia believes Greizmann’s £91m valuation is good value for money.
The Blues could also use Atletico’s interest in Costa to smoother relationships between both clubs in order to put itself ahead of the likes of Man Utd for the French man’s signature.
The report suggests a £70m deal + Costa would be more than enough to sign Greizmann but I don’t think this would make any sense for Chelsea’s business side. Costa is worth more than £21m even though he would have just about a year left in his contract by next summer.
