Arsene Wenger is desperate to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus, despite his poor injury record.
It’s being claimed that Reus has been lined up as a potential replacement for either Sanchez or Ozil both of whom are currently facing uncertain futures at Arsenal.
Although, Arsenal are still trying to convince the duo to stay, it is currently looking unlikely that they will both commit their future to the club, so Wenger may have to bring in replacements.
And Reus is one of the names believed to be on Wenger’s radar.
The German has proven he is among Europe’s elite footballers with his performances for BVB and will definitely be a good option to strengthen our attack but his injury record has long been a problem.
He is currently out with a cruciate ligament injury and isn’t expected to return to action until 2018. He missed majority of last season with injury and wasn’t part of the Germany Euro 16 championships due to injury.
Despite this, Calciomercato via the Daily Cannon say Arsenal are still determined to sign the winger.
They also claimed Manchester United are keeping a close eye on the German.
A move for Reus will be a risky investment and I am sure Wenger will not want to take such risk after all we’ve had to face with Wilshere.
Injury aside, Reus will be a dream signing for me but it’s important we look at this objectively and make the right decisions.
