Arsenal and Manchester United could battle each other to sign Real Madrid playmaker Marco Asensio, according to reports.
Asensio has established himself as one of Spain’s most talented youngsters and is playing a key role in Zidane’s team this season.
The Plethora of stars at Madrid restricted the midfielder to cameo appearances last season but he was able to break into the team at the start of this season.
His performances so far have alerted Arsenal and the Gunners are now looking to sign him.
Arsenal’s interest in the Spaniard is a long standing one and we were even rumored to have made a huge offer for the playmaker in the summer.
Spanish report Diario Gol via the Daily Star are now claiming Manchester United are also interested in the forward.
However, Asensio wants to remain at Real and is keen to hold talks with Zidane about his future.
The report says if talks with Zidane doesn’t go well, Asensio may consider leaving the Bernabeu which could cause a bidding war between Manchester United and Arsenal.
Other clubs like Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain are also believed to be keeping tabs on the forward, which isn’t surprising.
The Spaniard is a very talented player, he’s also shown he has the quality to play at the top and that’s the reason he is attracting so much interest, but his chances of leaving Madrid is very slim.
