Club legend Martin Keown believes Arsenal still have a long way to go before reaching Manchester City and Manchester United’s level.
Speaking after Arsenal’s win against West Brom on Monday, Keown was pleased with the team’s performance but pointed out that more work needs to be done if we want to successfully challenge for the league title.
“You have to say [it was] a professional performance from Arsenal – the referee played a major part and I’m sure Tony Pulis will have something to say about that,” Keown said, reports the Daily Cannon.
“Arsenal picked up three vital points but they are some way behind the top two in the Premier League at the moment.”
Arsenal’s performance against West Brom was sublime and we could have scored more than we did had we taken our chances.
However, looking at the Manchester clubs performances, one would agree we have a tough task at hand if we want to finish above them at the end of the season.
They are unbeaten in the league this season and the quality of their performances have been top notch, scoring plenty goals and conceding few.
We’ll still have to step up our performance and then show a good level of consistency throughout the season if we are going to win the league.
