Arsenal have made contact with Ancelotti over the possibility of replacing Arsene Wenger.
Ancelotti was relieved of his duties at Bayern Munich last month and is currently on sabbatical.
With Italy failing the qualify for the world cup, there have been talks of the Italian taking over the national team job but Gazetta Dello Sport claim the Azzurri’s would face competition from Arsenal and Chelsea.
The report via the Express claims Arsenal have explored the possibility of Ancelotti replacing Wenger.
Wenger has come under serious scrutiny from some fans in recent years over failure to guide us to the league title.
It wasn’t until after the final game of last season that Wenger signed a new two year deal at Arsenal but his future has been thrown into doubt again after Arsenal’s poor start to the season
Wenger has been in charge of Arsenal since the summer of 1996 and has led the club to three Premier League titles and six FA cups.
We may not have started the season well but I don’t think that would be enough to decide Wenger’s future.
There is no indication from Arsenal’s side that it is considering replacing Wenger, making the Ancelotti to Arsenal rumors mere paper talk.
