Former Arsenal star Charlie Nicholas believes Arsenal will sell Alexis Sanchez in January if they get a huge offer.
Wenger recently stated that Ozil and Sanchez will not be allowed to leave in January but Nicholas believes Arsenal might sell if a huge offer comes in.
“I think you believe him in principle but you don’t know,” the ex-Arsenal forward said, as quoted by the Daily Cannon.
“If PSG or Real Madrid or somebody’s going to come in and make a bid for Alexis Sanchez, you have to listen to the money.
“Arsenal have got lots of money, but they still have to listen to that.
“I’ve still got a feeling that they’ve got a better chance of re-signing Ozil, if it’s feasible.
“I don’t see another contract for Sanchez but if the right money comes in, £20million, £25m, Arsenal have to think about it.”
Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain and Manchester City have all been linked with the Chilean, all of whom have the capacity to come up with a special offer.
City have long be touted as favorites for Sanchez’s signature as the player is understood to have prioritized a move to the Etihad as he wants to be reunited with Pep Guardiola.
They were close to signing him on deadline day last summer, after they had a £60m bid accepted only for the Gunners to pull the plug on the deal when a replacement could not be secured in what was too little time left of the window.
I would assume Arsenal will still want to have a say on Sanchez’s next club and will prefer to sell abroad in January, rather than to a domestic rival.
