Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has revealed that no one in the Arsenal sqaud was in doubt over whether Mesut Ozil was going to sign a new deal or not as they all knew he would.
Ozil was linked with a move out of the Emirates with reports linking him to the likes of Manchester United, Paris Saint Germain and Barcelona as he had just six months left on his last deal.
He decided to stay and sign a new deal worth £350k a week to the relief of the fans and all at the club as they saw Alexis Sanchez leave in similar situation in January.
However, Bellerin insists his decision was never a doubt among Arsenal players as they all knew he would sign a new deal.
“He’s a guy who loves London, loves Arsenal and he gets really angry when things don’t go well so you know how much it means to him.
“We know how much it means for him to win or to lose for this club. So everyone in the dressing room was sure.
“It’s as exciting as a new signing to have a player with his qualities and all he brings to the team to sign for a few more years it is really exciting for us and for the fans.” He said.
