Arsenal legend Martin Keown reckons Arsene Wenger will be asking the board if they still want him at the club following the 3-0 defeat to Manchester City.
Arsenal failed to close the gap on the top four places as they suffered successive losses to Manchester City.
Following the 3-0 Carabao Cup final defeat on Sunday, the Gunners lost by the same scoreline again as Bernardo Silva, David Silva and Leroy Sane all struck first-half goals.
Pressure is now mounting on Wenger as they look highly unlikely to challenge for the Champions League spots.
And Keown has lifted the lid on what the Frenchman will be thinking.
“Is it a defining night for Arsene Wenger?” Keown told BBC.
“Last season they went out of the Champions League versus Bayern Munich, it was 10-0 over the two ties.
“The owner has supported Arsene Wenger but it gets ever closer to a change being made.
“I’m not looking forward to the Brighton game.
“If they lose that as well it really tests the club.
“He may even ask the club ‘do you want to keep me here’ because it’s turned that sour.”
