Arsenal and Liverpool have reportedly made bids for Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cilessen, according to the Daily Cannon.
Cilessen has basically confirm moves from Arsenal and Liverpool for him when he was asked about the possibility of signing for either of the English giants after being repeatedly linked with a move to them.
Both clubs have been linked with the former Ajax man as they look to replace their current first choice goalkeepers following calamitous displays last season.
According to Spanish journalist Alfredo Martinez, both clubs have now made moves for him with offers in place. He didn’t mention how much the offers are but said that the shot-stopper would be allowed to leave for around £39.5 million.
The goalkeeper himself hasn’t ruled out a move to either club. When asked about the speculations, he said; “I need to wait patiently. The only thing I know is that Barcelona won’t sell me,” he said.
“Arsenal and Liverpool aren’t bad clubs but if Barcelona say, ‘We love you’, then I’ll accept their decision and continue there.
He also added that a decision will only be made when he returns to the club on the 16th of July.
“I’ll wait until we return on the 16th July to see what they’ve decided. I don’t know anything. If the club wants to keep me, I’ll accept that. I signed a five-year deal with them.”
The Dutch international goalkeeper made only 12 appearances for the Catalans last season, keeping 8 clean sheets. And at 29 would be looking to play regularly to make the best out of this stage of his career.
