Carlo Ancelotti could replace Arsene Wenger at Arsenal next summer, according to the Daily Cannon.
Wenger’s future has been the subject of debate for the last couple of seasons but that hasn’t stopped despite signing a new contract in May.
After last season, Wenger signed a new two year deal which would keep him here until 2019.
However, should the team fail to challenge for the title again this season, Wenger may struggle to justify staying on as boss and this is where Ancelotti could come in.
Bayern Munich chiefs seem not to be happy with the Italian and are considering triggering a clause that would see him leave at the end of the season.
The Italian is one of Europe’s most successful managers, with three Champions League titles.
He spent a couple of years at Chelsea and won the Premier League and FA Cup in his first season in England.
His track record makes him one of the best around and Arsenal would be tempted should he become available, especially if Wenger fails to deliver this season.
Wenger is into his 22nd season at Arsenal and for the first time, he failed to finish in the top four. Two seasons away from Europe’s top competition will be a disaster and could spell the end for the French man.
