Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is reportedly open to the idea of a swap deal with Barcelona that would see Gunners right back Hector Bellerin move to the Camp Nou, with Dennis Suarez moving in the opposite direction.

Suarez was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates in the just concluded window with the midfielder understood to be on Wenger’s list of targets.

The midfielder was expected to be surplus to requirements at the Camp Nou following the arrival of Paulinho last summer and the return to midfield of Sergi Roberto this season.

New Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde however wanted to keep hold of the players at the club and refused to let him leave.

Bellerin on the other hand, formerly of the famous La Masia football academy of Barca has always been linked with a move back to Spain.

The Catalans have been monitoring their former player since the departure of Dani Alves last year.

Though their interest in the right back was expected to have ended following their recruitment of Nelson Semedo in the summer, it is however now understood that the Catalan side remain keen on the Spanish defender’s signature.

Recent reports have now indicated that the Catalans who remain keen on getting Bellerin could persuade the Gunners into a deal if they include Suarez in their offer.

According to El Gol Digital via Gunnersphere, manager Arsene Wenger is willing to reconsider letting Bellerin leave if Dennis Suarez is part of Barca’s bid for the defender.

The report is one Gooners should take in very light regard, with Bellerin currently the only senior right sided defender in the squad, Wenger would be desperate to hold on to him regardless of his interest in Denis Suarez.
