ESPN commentator Alejandro Moreno claims that Michy Batshuayi may replace Pierre Emerick Aubameyang at Dortmund as Arsenal look to sign the Gabonese striker, according to the Daily Star.
Aubameyang has been the subject of negotiations between Arsenal and Dortmund, with two bids of £45 million and £50 million said to have been rejected by the Bundesliga side.
But the Gunners are still pushing for a deal and Moreno believes Chelsea misfit Michy Batshuayi could replace Aubameyang if their North London rivals succeed in landing the Gabonese international.
When asked if Batshuayi could move to Dortmund if Aubameyang leaves, Moreno said: “He may be. There are not that many options out there!
“It may just be that it’s what’s available, Batshuayi maybe isn’t happy at Chelsea, maybe there’s a need for him to go somewhere else.”
Dortmund watched Michy Batshuayi during his time at Marseille before he joined Chelsea and they know exactly what to expect from the Belgian.
Batshuayi has lost the faith of his manager Antonio Conte, with the Italian preferring to play Eden Hazard in the false nine position when first choice striker Alvaro Morata is not available.
Dortmund are reported to also be interested in Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud and might either ask that he be part of Aubameyang’s deal, or move on loan till the end of the season.
