Arsenal have reportedly agreed a fee to sign Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, according to reports.

N’Zonzi has long been linked with a move to Arsenal but nothing concrete has materialized. Just last week, he was spotted in London, which caused reports to claim he was closing in on a move to Arsenal.

The midfielder quickly came out to dismiss those rumors, insisting he was only in London for family reasons.

However, that hasn’t stopped the Spanish media from linking him with Arsenal.

According to El Gol via Sports Mole, Arsenal are set to sign N’Zonzi for £35.3m.

This could sound surprising because N’Zonzi has a £38m release clause in his contract but the report claims that Arsenal haven’t been made to trigger the clause.

Instead we’ll be made to pay £32.7m with a further £2.6m in bonuses.

Wenger is believed to be looking for midfielder reinforcements and this reports appears to claim the boss has settled for N’Zonzi.

I do have doubts about this report. First it doesn’t have a reputation of being a good source and secondly, it is looking like a story to sell papers.

Arsenal are understood to be monitoring Paris Saint-Germain youngster Goncalo Guedes and will reportedly make an offer for the talented winger next summer.

The 21-year-old who is currently on a season long loan at Valencia is currently attracting interest with his dazzling displays in La Liga.

Guedes has evolved into a key member of the Valencia side who are currently Barcelona’s closest competitors for the league title.

Following the loss of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the last window and the expected departure of Alexis Sanchez in one of the next two windows, Wenger is understood to be monitoring a few top talents around Europe in wide positions.

Recent reports are indicating that Arsenal are hoping they can lure the tricky winger away from the French giants.

According to Daily Mail, Arsenal will make a move next summer for PSG’s Guedes as they look to rebuild after the departures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.

The report further states that the Gunners believe Guedes can help fill the vacuum caused by the expected departure of the club’s best players next summer.

PSG, ideally, are understandably reluctant to let Guedes leave on a permanent deal due to his obvious talent, but the French side are also under huge pressure to balance their books to comply with the rules of the financial fair play.

In any case, it would still require a mammoth offer to tempt PSG into selling the player, the Gunners are however understood not to be perturbed by that and will task new head of football relations Raul Sanllehi to use his contacts gained at Barcelona to secure the Portuguese player.

Madrid Boss Zidance Confirms January Interest For Alexis Sanchez

Real Madrid are understood to be preparing a January offer for want away Arsenal winger Alexis Sanchez. The Spanish giants remain on the lookout for a forward to bolster their attacking ranks following the sale of Alvaro Morata to Chelsea last summer.

Sanchez on his part is keen on a move away from the Emirates, the Chilean who made no secret of his desire to leave North London during summer’s transfer window came agonizingly close to joining Manchester City on deadline day.

Reports from Spain have revealed that Sanchez is set to be targeted again in the new year, this time by Madrid.

According to Okdiario via Tribal Football, although Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi is the prime target for the January window, Alexis is also under serious consideration.

The report further states that it is a move for Sanchez that looks set to prioritized by the Galacticos. The Spanish club reckons that to land Icardi next month, they will have to part with €90-100m, whereas intermediaries are convinced Alexis will be allowed to leave Arsenal for €30m.

To further fuel the speculation, Real coach Zinedine Zidane has made it clear to the directors that he would prefer Alexis over Icardi.

Madrid’s pursuit of Alexis is however likely to face a couple of obstacles. The player is understood to have prioritized a move to the Etihad as he wants to be reunited with Pep Guardiola whom he played under during their spell at Barcelona, it is also highly unlikely that Wenger would sanction the sale of Alexis in the upcoming winter transfer window, despite his contract running out at the end of the season, the player is obviously still a key component of the current Gunners squad.

Madrid President Florentino Perez Tells Arsenal to Pay €60m For Star Man

Arsene Wenger’s plans to strengthen the Gunners’ frontline with the acquisition of long-term target Karim Benzema is set to be threatened yet again by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

The French international striker has been annually linked with a move to the Emirates for a while now with Wenger a known admirer of the forward.

Several Gunners enquiries have however been knocked back over the years as the Spanish giants remained keen on holding on to Benzema who also happens to be a favorite of Perez.

Following the summer arrival of Alexandre Lacazette, Wenger was understood to have ended his interest in the player, however following what has been a dismal start to the campaign by Benzema, the Real Madrid hierarchy are open to the idea of letting him leave next year.

Recent reports from Spain have now revealed that with the player now available, Wenger is set to reignite his interest in the player he still very much adores.

It is Diario Gol via Tribal Football that has claimed Arsenal’s recent interest in signing Benzema has been relayed to Real president Florentino Perez via Benzema’s intermediaries.

While all parties involved are understood to be open to the deal, Perez could still deny Wenger his wish to sign his compatriot over the player’s valuation.

The stumbling block is Arsenal’s rigid offer, with it being made clear to Perez they won’t go higher than €40m. For his part, the Real president rates the striker closer to €60m mark.

Despite not being a like for like replacement, it is rumoured that Wenger wants to sign Benzema as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean is set to depart the Emirates in one of the next two windows and Benzema could very well replace the goals Alexis would take away from the team.

Update On Steven N’Zonzi January Transfer Link To Arsenal

Arsenal have not made any bid for Steven N’Zonzi, Goal has revealed.

N’Zonzi was spotted in London last week, causing reports that he is in talks with Arsenal over a January transfer.

Spanish radio COPE had claimed the former Stoke City man was in the English capital to discuss a return to the Premier League and the Emirates is being touted as his likeliest destination.

Sevilla has now clarified the situation, stating that the midfielder was in London for family reasons.

N’Zonzi’s son is based in London and the midfielder was granted permission to spend time with his son.

The Liga club’s chairman Jose Castro told reporters:

“N’Zonzi’s situation [being dropped] is due to a technical issue with the coaches and, as with all technical issues, he can change it.

“He travelled to London to visit his son with our permission. There aren’t any offers to sign N’Zonzi. I can’t talk about clauses or prices if we don’t have an offer.

“We respect the decision of our coaches, he is training with his team-mates but currently he isn’t playing. It’s a technical decision and the coaches have said in public that he can change this.”

Anyway, N’Zonzi is likely to leave Seville at the end of the season after falling out with manager Eduardo Berizzo.

The relationship between Berizzo and the player has been damaged beyond repair and he may have to move for the sake of his career.

Arsenal 1st January Signing Reportedly Spotted In London Ahead of Move

Arda Turan is unlikely to join Arsenal in January, contrary to reports that a move to the Emirates is close.

Turan was spotted with his agent Ahmed Bulut in London last week, amid reports that Arsenal are interested in signing him.

However Mundo Deportivo are claiming a switch to the Emirates isn’t close, even though the midfielder was spotted in town.

Although the report admitted Arsenal’s interest in Turan, it claims talks between the Gunners and Turan’s camp haven’t made any progress.

The report also said Bulut’s claims that a decision will be made in the next two weeks was to speed up the pace of negotiations but still talks with Arsenal aren’t make progress as they expected.

Turan could end up being stuck at Barcelona, if negotiations continue at this pace. AS Monaco are believed to be Turan’s first choice but the French club are struggling to strike an agreement with him.

A move for Turan wouldn’t make any sense for Arsenal. The midfielder will be 31 in January and hasn’t played for Barcelona for over seven months.

Even though we might be losing Ozil in the new year, Turan is not the kind of replacement we should be looking at. In my opinion, signing Turan would likely turn out to be a mistake.

Barca Give Final Verdict On Transfer Of Andre Gomes To Arsenal in January

Follow Footballbible on Facebook and Twitter to get up to date football related news from the English Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and other leagues around the World. News From Chelsea, Everton, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Arsenal have been dealt a severe blow in the upcoming winter transfer window as it is understood that they will not get the chance to sign Andre Gomes from Barcelona in January.

Arsene Wenger is understood to be keen on reinvigorating his midfield next year and thus Arsenal who were linked with Gomes in last summer’s transfer window still retain an interest.

As early as last week, reports in Spain claimed Barcelona were willing to include Gomes in a swap deal to sign Ozil but Portuguese paper A’Bola The Mirror have revealed that will not happen.

Gomes is a product of Benfica’s academy and established himself as one of Europe’s most talented midfielder at the Portuguese club and later on in Valencia before completing a £44m move to the Camp Nou last year.

However, he has failed to live up to expectations at Barca and is now being linked with a move away.

Despite the 23 year old’s mixed debut season at the Camp Nou, he is still regarded as one of Europe’s most promising deep lying midfielders but it was always going to be highly unlikely for him to move to the Emirates at the midpoint of the season.

Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with Gomes but they will also have to wait until next summer at the very least.

The Portuguese international has been plagued by minor fitness problems of late but returned to the fray to produce an impressive display against Sporting Lisbon.

Chelsea & Arsenal Target Reject New Deal As He Pushes For Surprise Exit

Real Madrid are ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea in the race to sign Atletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, according to reports.

Arrizabalaga’s contract at Bilbao expires at the end of the season and he’s been stalling on a new contract.

It isn’t yet known whether the player is looking to take the next step of his career or holding out for a better deal but Arsenal who have been monitoring his situation at the San Mames for while have been heavily linked with him in recent months.

However, it is Real who are understood to be closing in on the goalkeeper. According to The Daily Cannon, The La Liga giants are prepared to pay £18m for Arizzabalaga in the winter transfer window.

Along with Arsenal, Chelsea are also believed to be keen on the goalkeeper but it is Madrid who currently occupy the driving seat.

However, Madrid could also decide to wait until the summer when they would be able to sign the goalkeeper on a free transfer if the competition for the shot stopper’ services isn’t strong enough.

Arizzabalaga has kept just three clean sheets this summer, shipping 18 goals in the process, which isn’t a promising stat. However, that doesn’t deny the fact that he’s a talented custodian.

As for Arsenal, it’s easy to see why Wenger holds such a serious interest in the young goalkeeper. While Cech remains a very good goalkeeper, he is already 35 and probably past his best.

A keeper like Arizzabalaga will be the perfect signing to come learn from the Czech Republic man with the view of eventually succeeding him.

Arsenal Linked With Surprise Move For Tottenham Star Target

Arsenal are one of the numerous clubs reportedly interested in Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.

When a Madrid player isn’t playing or performing as much as expected, the Spanish media are fond of linking them with an exit and Arsenal are always touted as suitors.

Last week it was Karim Benzema, yesterday it was Marco Asensio and now it is Ceballos.

Just like Asensio, Arsenal are one of almost six clubs interested in Ceballos.

This report unsurprisingly originated from Diario Go [via Tribal Football] and it claims AC Milan, Tottenham Hotspur, AS Roma and Arsenal are all expressing interest in signing Ceballos.

To make their claim sound more credible, they say the midfielder who moved to the Bernabeu from Real Betis last summer wasn’t Zidane’s choice but Fiorentino Perez’s, who pushed for his signing.

Even if true, it is unlikely that Perez would give up on a player he personally pushed to sign just six months after.

It is true that Ceballos isn’t playing regularly but what would you expect when you are competing with the likes of Toni Kroos, Luca Modric, Isco, Matheo Kovacic.

I don’t need anyone to tell me that Madrid will sell Ceballos in the summer and also, I don’t need to be told that Arsenal aren’t interested in the midfielder.

It’s all made up!

Arsenal Target & His Agent Spotted In London Ahead Of January Transfer

Follow Footballbible on Facebook and Twitter to get up to date football related news from the English Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and other leagues around the World. News From Chelsea, Everton, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan was spotted in London with his agent over the weekend.

The midfielder was linked with a move to Arsenal last week, with reports claimWiing Barcelona are prepared to offer him to Arsenal in a swap deal to sign Ozil.

It wasn’t the first time Arsenal were being linked with the Turkish international but this time around it’s been heightened by Turan’s presence in London.

According to the Express, Turan’s agent Ahmed Bulut posted a picture of the pair in the plush London borough of Knightsbridge.

Bulut also granted an interview in Turkey, where he claimed they have received offers from a Premier League club.

“There are teams that want Arda,” he told reporters in Turkey. There are offers from England, Spain and Italy.

“Within fifteen days the situation will be clear. We have two very clear options, one of them is a loan, the other is a permanent transfer.”

Arsenal are the only Premier League club currently linked with the winger and spotting him in London somehow gives credence to those rumors.

Arsenal may be on the lookout for an attacking midfielder, with Ozil’s future currently uncertain. However, it would be sad if we consider the Barcelona a replacement for our German. Turan’s age and and style of play doesn’t make him a good signing for us.
