Liverpool and Arsenal are set to renew their interest in Thomas Lemar when the January transfer window opens.

Both clubs were keen on the forward in the January transfer window but failed to sign him.

Arsenal in particular had several bids rejected by Monaco who initially didn’t want to sell, only for them to accept a £92m bid on deadline day but the player had no interest in moving so late in the transfer window.

According to the Mirror, Arsenal are going to renew their interest in Lemar when the transfer window opens in January.

With Alexis Sanchez’s future still unresolved, Arsenal known they run the risk of losing the midfielder in January and have begun to put measures in place to bring in a replacement.

Lemar has long been touted as a replacement for Sanchez, so it isn’t surprising that he is under consideration.

However, it remains to be seen whether Monaco would want to lose their star man in the middle of the season. Should they be receptive to a sale, Liverpool are expected to provide stiff competition for his signature.

The Reds apparently see him as a replacement for Coutinho who is being linked with a move to Barcelona.

Barcelona have hatched a plan to sign Schalke 04 midfielder Leon Goretzka and are set to beat Arsenal to the midfielder’s signature, according to the Daily Mail.

Goretzka has been linked with Arsenal since last season.

It was widely expected that Wenger would step up his pursuit of the midfielder in the summer but Schalke has been able to keep the midfielder suitors at arms length.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season and the midfielder looking unlikely to sign a new deal, it was thought that Arsenal’s chance to finally sign him has arrived.

But the Daily Mail are claiming, it is Barcelona who are set to secure his signature.

The Catalans made contact with Goretzka recently and have promised to offer him a huge signing-on fee to join them.

It is claimed that Barcelona are confident of signing a pre-contract agreement with the 22 year old in January when he will be free to enter into negotiations with any of his suitors.

This will come as a big blow to Arsenal who sent scouts to watch him on several occasions in the past year.

Barcelona see Goretzka as a cheaper option to Mesut Ozil who is reportedly demanding huge wages. If they sign Goretzka, it will give Arsenal a huge boost in keeping Ozil, which is what I am sure every Gooner would prefer.

Manchester United have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Loen Goretzka, according to reports.

Goretzka has shown he has the potential to become a top player in the future and his talent have attracted a host of top clubs including Arsenal.

With his contract set to expire in 2018, his future has been thrown under the spotlight and many clubs are jostling to sign him up.

It is understood that Arsenal are big admirers of the midfielder and have been monitoring his situation at Schalke 04 for well over a year but we could now face competition from Man Utd for his services.

According to the Express, Manchester United have now joined the race to sign the midfielder.

Jose Mourinho is keen on the playmaker who has scored six goals in 31 appearances last season. His ability to play different positions without having a reduction in his performance have caught the attention of Arsene Wenger.

Wenger is a big fan of versatile players and one can see the reason why we are one of the clubs keeping an eye on Goretzka.

Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich are also keen on the midfielder, who would be free to enter into talks with suitors in January. Schalke also do not want to lose the midfielder and are fighting hard to extend his contract.

All these interest will make it very difficult for Arsenal to sign the defender. It remains to be seen whether we’ll be successful.

Arsenal Set To Use Former Teammate Kolasinac To Sign Goretzka – Reports

Follow Footballbible on Facebook and Twitter to get up to date football related news from the English Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and other leagues around the World. News From Chelsea, Everton, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Arsenal reportedly beat Juventus to Sead Kolasinac’s signature last summer by offering him a huge pay check and the Gunners are set to use same method to sign Leon Goretzka ahead of the Italians again.

The Gunners signed Kolasinac on a free transfer last summer, amid interest from a host of top clubs.

Juventus and Chelsea were among the clubs that wanted to sign Kolasinac in the summer but it was Arsenal who won the race for his signature by offering him a huge bonus.

Now Arsenal could do the same thing with Goretzka.

Just like Kolasinac was, Goretzka’s contract expires at the end of the season and appears set to leave Schalke 04 on a free transfer.

Juventus, Chelsea, Liverpool and Barcelona are all rumored to be interested in the 22 year old but Arsenal are working to beat these rivals to his signature.

While some of these clubs are free spending clubs and could as well pay Goretzka what he wants, Calcio Mercato via the Daily Cannon are of the opinion that Arsenal could offer the midfielder a huge bonus, just like it did to Kolasinac.

Goretzka had scored four goals in 11 appearances this season before he got injured. However, he’s already done enough to show he has the quality to play at the top level.

He was Schalke’s best player last season, lit up the FIFA confederation cup with his superb performance and has been a key player for his club this term before his injury. He’ll be a great signing if we manage to get him.

[4-3-3] Liverpool vs Everton: Match Preview and Predicted Kops Lineup

Alberto Moreno will miss the Merseyside derby after being forced off with an ankle injury in the 7-0 UEFA Champions League win over Spartak Moscow.

Jurgen Klopp said the Spaniard will undergo further assessment, with it not yet known whether he’ll be out for a week or a couple of weeks, perhaps even until the New Year.

In Moreno’s absence, James Milner could deputise at left-back ahead of Andrew Robertson.

With Joel Matip remaining a major doubt due to a muscle injury, Dejan Lovren looks set to partner Ragnar Klavan in central defence – the Croatian was taken off after 60 minutes on Wednesday night, presumably with one eye on Sunday.

As the first choice right-back in the absence of Nathaniel Clyne, Joe Gomez may get the nod over Trent Alexander-Arnold, despite playing 90 minutes in midweek. Klopp trialled a 4-1-4-1 in midweek but is expected to return to 4-3-3 formation.

Jordan Henderson should return in central midfield after being an unused substitute on Wednesday night, with Philippe Coutinho expected to take another of the midfield slots if Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane start in attack.

That would leave one of Georginio Wijnaldum, Emre Can or, potentially, Milner battling for the final spot in the three-man midfield. Daniel Sturridge and Dominic Solanke provide the back-up options in attack.

Adam Lallana continues to build up his fitness following a spell on the sidelines.

[4-1-4-1] Liverpool vs Everton: Match Preview and Predicted Toffees Lineup

Following back-to-back victories, there will be a temptation to name an unchanged starting XI for a third consecutive match.

Yet a trip to Liverpool means that Sam Allardyce could opt for a more defensive formation in his first derby in charge.

If the Toffees boss sticks with the 4-1-4-1 system, Aaron Lennon and Gylfi Sigurdsson could continue out wide, leaving Dominic Calvert-Lewin as the lone striker.

Oumar Niasse, Ademola Lookman and Nikola Vlasic provide attacking alternatives. Tom Davies and Wayne Rooney look set to continue in central midfield, leaving Idrissa Gueye in the defensive midfield role.

Morgan Schneiderlin does provide a strong alternative in the middle of the park should Allardyce look for greater defensive cover.

Two successive clean sheets mean the back four of Jonjoe Kenny, Mason Holgate, Ashley Williams and Cuco Martina may stay unchanged.

Michael Keane is a viable starter in central defence, however, and an option should the Everton manager consider using a three-man backline, while Phil Jagielka is also available again.

Leighton Baines, Seamus Coleman, Ramiro Funes Mori, James McCarthy and Ross Barkley all remain sidelined, as is Yannick Bolasie (lack of match fitness).

Arsenal Set To Beat Liverpool, Chelsea & Spurs to Sign Goretzka

Arsenal are reportedly leading the race to sign Schalke 04 midfielder Leon Goretzka.

Arsenal are one of the clubs interested in Goretzka and have  been monitoring his situation for well over a year. His contract expires at the end of the season and doesn’t look like he wants to sign a new deal at Schalke.

And the Sun via Sports Mole claim Arsenal have intensified interest in Goretzka as we begin to look up for potential replacements for Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

Earlier this week, it was claimed that Barcelona are confident of signing the midfielder in January when he would be free to enter into talks with suitors in the new year.

The Spanish giants are hoping to tempt the midfielder by promising him a huge signing-on fee, making this report a bit surprising.

Whether we’ll actually be able to beat Barca and other free spending clubs to the midfielder’s signature remains to be seen.

Goretzka recently revealed he will make a decision in January. Hopefully Arsenal will be able to convince him to snub rivals interests. I am a bit hopeful about this especially after we beat a host of top clubs to sign Sead Kolasinac last summer. If we can do it then, we can do it now.

Schalke 04 may have no option but to sell Arsenal target Leon Goretzka in the January transfer window.

The young German has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur all believed to be keen on his services.

Ideally, Schalke want to keep the midfielder but they know they face the prospect of losing him for nothing in the summer if he doesn’t extend his contract which runs out at the end of the season.

The Bundesliga outfit has offered Goretzka a club record €12m per season contract but he’s yet to respond to the offer. They have now handed an ultimatum to him, demanding an answer before Christmas.

According to the Tribalfootball, Schalke will look to sell Goretzka in January if he turns down the new offer.

Four of the Premier league’s top six are believed to be chasing the midfielder but it was reported last week that it is Arsenal and Liverpool who are leading the race to sign him.

Arsenal may well use Goretzka’s relationship with Sead Kolasinac who joined us as a free agent from Schalke last summer to edge out Liverpool.

Goretzka established himself as Germany’s next big talent last season with his super performances and continued his fine form at the FIFA Confederations Cup which took place last summer. He continued this season where he left off last season and is now drawing a lot of interest. He’s proven he can play at the top level and I am keen to see Arsenal secure his signing.

Liverpool and Arsenal are set to go head-to-head for the signature of Paris Saint Germain midfielder Julian Draxler, according to reports.

The German international is seen by many Arsenal fans as one of the few players that can replace Alexis Sanchez, who is being linked with an exit.

Arsenal themselves, are big admirers of Draxler, having monitored him since his days at Schalke 04, but our need to sign him has never been this strong.

Having signed Neymar for around €220m last summer, PSG may have to let one of their first team players leave in the new year in order to comply with the financial fair play rules.

And according to the Mirror via the Metro, the French club has decided that it is Draxler who would have to leave the club in the new year.

Liverpool and Arsenal have been alerted by the situation at Paris and are ready to battle for Draxler.

Arsenal remain big admirers of the former Wolfsburg man and will definitely relish the opportunity to sign him, especially now that we are scouring the market for Sanchez’s replacement. The Germany international is one of the best young wingers you can find around and will be a great signing for us.

Although his goalscoring threat is nothing compared to Sanchez, his playmaking ability will make him a decent replacement. For now, we’ll just have to focus on signing him ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
