Man City & Arsenal In Hot £30m Transfer Battle For Star Man- NOT Sanchez

Manchester City and Arsenal are set to battle for West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans in January.

Both clubs were heavily linked with the center half during last summer’s transfer window but it was understood that only a huge transfer fee would have tempted West Brom into considering the sale of Evans.

The Baggies stood strong despite serious interest from City and Arsenal and even rejected an opening offer from the Premier League leaders.

Following the change of manager and what has been a poor start to the season even by their standards, the club may not be able to hold on to it’s top players when the transfer window reopens next year.

The Telegraph via City Watch claims Arsenal retains its interest in Evans and will again look to sign the Northern Island international during the winter window.

Wenger has largely played with three at the back this season and has deployed Nacho Monreal who is a left back at centre defense. The Gunners also let Gabriel leave for Valencia during last summer’s transfer window without signing a replacement.

Mertesacker retires at the end of the season and Arsenal will definitely well be in the market for a replacement. We could then make a move for Evans if given an encouragement.

It’s being speculated that Pardew could be willing to sacrifice Evans for £30m to raise funds to strengthen his squad in the January transfer window.

£30m for a 29 year old would be irrational, however Wenger is a long-term admirer of Evans, having followed him since his days at Manchester United. We have tried to sign him two summers in a row so I doubt we won’t make a move if he becomes available but not for the price being quoted.

Goodbye Sanchez As Man City Return With Massive January Bid For Him

Manchester City are set to return for Alexis Sanchez in January.

The Etihad club was close to signing Sanchez in the summer, only for Arsenal to pull out of negotiations in the eleventh hour after failing to secure a replacement. They have remained keen on the forward but it was thought that they’ll wait until the summer when they can sign him for free.

However, the Independent are claiming City have brought forward their plans to sign Sanchez and will now make a big money move for him in the new year.

Guardiola is confident he can win the Premier League and Champions League this season and in a bid to boost his chances of doing that, he wants to strengthen by signing Sanchez in January.

Wenger remains adamant that Sanchez will not be sold in the new year but City believe they can get their man, especially after Arsenal said same thing in the summer but almost agreed to the sale on deadline day.

Guardiola has admitted privately that it would take a huge offer to convince Arsenal to sell even in January and City are more than willing to make a huge bid in order to avoid negotiations dragging on like it did in the summer.

Should City come up with a huge bid, it’s really going to be difficult for Arsenal to turn it down, knowing fully well that he will leave for nothing at the end of the season.

Finding a replacement in the January transfer window will be a bigger problem than deciding whether to let him leave or not. Most clubs don’t naturally allow their top players leave in the new year, so it would be tough to sign a replacement.

In my opinion, I think we should keep Sanchez regardless of what City has to offer. It wouldn’t be wise to weaken ourselves to strengthen a rival. If we must sell because of financial implications, then we should sell abroad.

Report Confirm Arsenal Receive 2 Shock Early Bids For Alexis- Not Man City

Arsenal have reportedly received two bids for Alexis Sanchez and this could force Manchester City into action.

City were close to signing Sanchez last summer, after they had a £60m bid accepted on deadline day, only for Arsenal to pull out of negotiations after failing to secure a replacement.

This left the Etihad club furious but they kept their interest in the striker, with the hope of signing him for free in the summer.

However, they may now have to bring their plans forward, after learning that Arsenal have received two bids for the Chilean.

According to Manchester Evening News via the Daily Cannon, two unnamed clubs have indicated their interest to sign Sanchez in January.

This could now force City into action, so they don’t end up losing out on the Chilean.

While we are left to guess who the other two clubs are, I wouldn’t be surprised if one of them was PSG.

The French club has been the most consistently linked with Sanchez all these months behind Manchester City. They tried to sign him in the summer but dropped their interest after they signed Neymar.

The French club reportedly remain interested and are exploring all options to sign him.

Arsene Wenger recently stated that Sanchez will not be leaving Arsenal in January but that could change if we receive a substantial offer for him.

It’d be a shame if we sell him in January but there’s nothing we can do considering his contractual situation. If it then comes to a situation where we have to sell the forward, I’ll prefer we sell abroad.

Pep Guardiola Makes Huge Transfer Statement On Arsenal Star Target

Pep Guardiola says he never would have sold Raheem Sterling to Arsenal in the last summer’s transfer window.

Arsenal tried to sign Sterling during the last window but were knocked back. The Gunners hoped to use City’s interest in Sanchez to sign Sterling but Guardiola wasn’t having any of that.

The Spanish tactician has now revealed that there was never a chance of Sterling joining Arsenal.

“We were clear when Arsenal wanted him we said, ‘No, that’s not going to happen’. Daily Star reports Guardiola said.

“He’s still young and we hope to make him happy so that he can stay for longer.

“All the credit is Raheem’s. Of course I believe in him.

“But I also believe in the players who don’t play regularly – Ilkay Gundogan, Danilo, Bernardo Silva.

“I didn’t discover Raheem, the player he is. The quality is his talent. He did it at Liverpool .

“He played amazing and that’s why City paid a lot of money for him.”

Sterling has however been continuously linked with a move to Arsenal as the January transfer window approaches. In a bid to end any hopes of signing the 22 year old, City are understood to have opened talks with him regarding a new deal.

The England international has scored 13 goals thus far this season, helping his team maintain an unbeaten start this campaign.

With the kind of form he is in, at the moment, I am sure every Gooner will be hoping what might have been had City agreed to use him in their quest to sign Sanchez during the summer.

Wenger Offer Wilshere New Deal After Man City & Chelsea Show Interest

Follow Footballbible on Facebook and Twitter to get up to date football related news from the English Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and other leagues around the World. News From Chelsea, Everton, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Arsenal could offer Jack Wilshere a new deal before the season ends, according to Talk Sport.

The midfielder who is into the final months of his Arsenal contract is yet to be offered a new deal to extend his stay at the Emirates beyond the current campaign.

Premier League rivals Manchester City and Chelsea are understood to be keeping tabs on his situation and are hoping to sign him up when he becomes a free agent next summer.

The 25-year-old will be free to enter into talks with interested foreign clubs from January and even sign a pre-contract agreement with any of them.

The England international was out of Arsenal’s squad at the beginning of the season but has since regained his fitness and then been able to force his way back into first team contention, although he is still not playing as regularly as he would want.

Wenger had previously stated that a decision on Wilshere’s future will not be made until December but he has refused to state whether or not he wants the midfielder to stay.

talkSPORT reports Wenger said: “I always considered his interest because for me he’s an Arsenal player and has been since he was a kid.

“He’s a football man and I will always decide what is best for him, that is my first priority no matter what kind of decision I make. I have to consider the interests of Jack Wilshere and Arsenal Football Club together.

“If I think his best interest is to stay here then I will absolutely fight 100 per cent for him to stay here because he’s a guy who is top quality and is back fit now.

“When you have a top quality player you want him to be at Arsenal Football Club.”

I am sure many Gooners will be excited if Wilshere extends his stay at the Emirates as much as he can remain fit. Not many of us want to see a player who joined us at the age of nine and has been brought up in the club culture and values leave us embarrassingly. With the midfielder set to enter the peak years of his career, a contract extension would be ideal.

Arsenal Insider Makes Huge Double January Transfer Statement

Follow Footballbible on Facebook and Twitter to get up to date football related news from the English Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and other leagues around the World. News From Chelsea, Everton, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown believes the club will not allow Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil leave in January.

Sanchez and Ozil have refused to sign new contracts, even though their current deals expires at the end of the season.

It’s been widely reported that Arsenal will consider selling them in January if a monstrous offer comes in but Keown is of the opinion that they’ll be made to see the end of their contracts.

“I believe that they believe in the football club,” Keown told BT Sport, as quoted by the Express.

“They have to do well between now and the end of the season and then go with everyone’s blessing.

“Wenger wants them at the club. He wants the best players, that’s all he’s ever interested in – he is not interested in getting any money in for them.

“I think they should stay at the club and give their best and lets hope they qualify for the Champions League.”

Returning to the Champions League is Arsenal’s priority now and I am sure the club won’t want to lose its key players if it will jeopardize our chances of accomplishing our goal. It does look like it will, so I don’t expect them to be sold next month.

Even though losing them for free at the end of the season will hit us hard financially, I would prefer them to stay until then. Should we qualify for the Champions League, we should be able to compensate for the financial hit.

Arsenal January Target Makes Final Admission On January Transfer Move

Manchester City star Raheem Sterling says he has no intention of joining Arsenal.

The England international was linked with a move to the Emirates in a proposed swap deal that would have seen Alexis Sanchez move to the Etihad in the summer but City turned down the proposal.

Even as recent as last month, Sterling was rumored to be a January transfer target of Arsenal but Guardiola was quick to shut down those rumors.

Sterling himself has now put to bed any hopes of Arsenal signing him. The England international insists he is happy at the Etihad and doesn’t intend to move to London.

“I’m happy at Man City. But nobody knows what the future brings so one day, definitely, it would be nice to play abroad,” Sterling said, as quoted by the Express.

“It would be a great experience. Spain’s attractive. Anywhere the weather is nice really!”

“I can’t be in London. I can’t be near my friends.”

“They got to stay down there.”

Sterling hails from London and started his career at Queen Parks Rangers before moving to Liverpool. When he was first linked with Arsenal, it was claimed that he is keen on a return to the capital city but he now claims otherwise.

Arsenal apparently wanted him as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez in the summer. Judging by the form he’s been this season, he would have been a perfect signing. His age and his style of play would make him an asset for any team.

Arsenal Boosted In Race To Sign Man City Target Set To Replace Mertesacker

West Brom manager Alan Pardew has admitted he is scared of losing Arsenal target Jonny Evans in the January transfer window.

Evans is being linked with a move away from the Hawthorns in January, with Arsenal and Manchester City said to be keen on his services.

Pardew has now admitted he is unsure if can keep hold of the 29 year old in January.

“I’m never confident when you’ve got great players because other clubs want great players, so your best players are always vulnerable,” he said, as quoted by the Express.

“Jonny Evans is definitely one of them and he is our captain. Do I want to lose him? Of course not.

“Do I fear losing him? Of course I do.

“There was interest in him in the summer so it makes sense to stir it up. They are good headlines for the media.

“I understand that, we deal with it and Jonny has dealt with it in his own way.

“He was terrific for me. I can only go on his performance and he was outstanding for me against Crystal Palace and [now] we go to Swansea.”

Arsenal are expected to make an offer for Evans in the new year. The defender has made just 13 appearances for West Brom this season and has been a key part of the Baggies team.

The Gunners have been besieged with a couple of defensive problems of recent and Evans will go a long way in fixing it.

Nacho Monreal has been largely deployed as a centre defender in recent seasons, while Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi are struggling with injuries. So I am not entirely surprised about the Arsenal-Evans links.

Latest Update On Jean-Michel Seri Transfer To Arsenal In January

Follow Footballbible on Facebook and Twitter to get up to date football related news from the English Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and other leagues around the World. News From Chelsea, Everton, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Manchester City and Barcelona have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Nice midfielder Jean-Michel Seri, according to the Daily Cannon.

Arsenal were keen on signing Seri in the last transfer window but couldn’t finalize a deal.

We have continued to be linked with the Cote d’ivoire international as a replacement for Mesut Ozil whose contract expires at the end of season.

But we could face competition from Manchester City, Liverpool and Barcelona.

The trio are keen on the 26 year old and would rival Arsenal if he becomes available in January.

Barca’s interest in Seri is a long-standing one just like Arsenal’s. It was the Spanish giants who provided the stiffest competition for his signature last summer and it was even rumored that they had a £36.5m bid rejected by Nice.

Liverpool were also linked with Seri in the summer but those links died down after they signed Naby Keita of Red Bull Salzburg.

Manchester City are the latest club to be linked with the midfielder who has scored just once and provided four assists in 17 games this season.

I believe Arsenal are likely to step up its interest in Seri if Ozil refuses to sign a new deal. The Lyon midfielder will be a perfect replacement for Ozil and would go a long way to soften the blow of Ozil’s exit.

[4-1-2-3] Man City vs Man Utd: Match Preview & Predicted City Lineup

Follow Footballbible on Facebook and Twitter to get up to date football related news from the English Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and other leagues around the World. News From Chelsea, Everton, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Pep Guardiola revealed David Silva is available for the Manchester derby, after the midfielder sat out the 2-1 defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk due to a knock.

The Spaniard should start alongside Fernandinho and Kevin De Bruyne in central midfield in the usual 4-1-2-3 formation, with Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva providing cover.

Raheem Sterling was an unused substitute on Wednesday night and looks set to start on the right of the front three, while Leroy Sane was withdrawn after 62 minutes and is the favourite to line up on the left.

Up front, Gabriel Jesus played the full 90 minutes in midweek and could drop back to the bench, with Sergio Aguero – who was handed just 20 minutes in the Ukraine – returning to the XI.

Vincent Kompany missed out against Shakhtar after suffering some discomfort, while Fabian Delph was absent due to illness, with the pair to be assessed ahead of Sunday’s match.

Eliaquim Mangala and Danilo will be on standby, then, while Kyle Walker and Nicolas Otamendi appear sure starters elsewhere in the back four.

John Stones remains out, while Benjamin Mendy is a long-term absentee.
