Manchester United are understood to have rejected an opening offer from Arsenal for versatile forward Anthony Martial.

With star forward Alexis Sanchez set to depart the Emirates in one of the next two windows coupled with the difficulty in trying to finalize a deal for Thomas Lemar last summer, Wenger is understood to be monitoring a few top talents around Europe capable of replacing the Chilean.

Wenger has previously been reported to be monitoring his compatriot’s situation at Old Trafford has now reportedly lodged an opening bid for the player which has already been knocked back by the Red Devils.

According to Transfer Market Web via Express, the Gunners have already seen a bid for the wing wizard rejected by United.

The report further states that Arsenal want to get a deal for the youngster done in January but United will prove tough negotiators.

The 21-year-old striker is understood to be worried as to why he is currently not in the first team despite his assured performances in his substitute appearances off the bench.

For a player who intends to make the vastly talented French squad for the World next summer, the player’s concern is understandable.

The Frenchman suffered a little dip in form last year but looks reborn this season as he continues to fight his way back into the first team.

Following his arrival from Monaco two years ago as a teenager, Martial immediately took the Premier League in his wake finishing as the Red Devils top scorer.

Personal problems off the pitch meant he struggled to replicate such high standards last season, with five goals and six assists thus far this season, Martial seems back to his best with his clinical performances this season.

With Wenger’s long history of recruiting very talented compatriots, his interest in the player comes with no surprise. Mourinho though is understandably reluctant to let Martial leave, especially to a direct rival.

Though the report did not specify how much exactly Arsenal have to bid to sign Martial, it however suggested that the Gunners must most likely smash their transfer record to convince Mourinho to sell.

Trusted Source Makes Massive Statement on Mourinho’s Plan to Sign Ozil

Jose Mourinho vs Chelsea

Contrary to reports that Ozil is likely to join Manchester United at the end of the season, respected football journalist Duncan Castles says the Old Trafford club are not looking to sign the midfielder.

Man Utd have been installed as bookies favorites to sign Ozil, whose contract expires at the end of next season.

Several reports have claimed Mourinho wants to reunite with the German who he enjoyed a great working relationship with at Real Madrid but Castles have now rubbished  any claim that Utd are interested in signing the midfielder, however, he admitted Mourinho is a big fan of the player.

“Mourinho does like him as a player. He’s got that combination of creativity and tactical awareness that he likes,” said Castles on the Transfer Window podcast, as quoted by the Daily Cannon.

“But the information I’m getting is that Ozil’s not the player he plans to add to the team next summer.

“He’s already worked out the areas he wants to improve in.

“He always had a three summer transfer window plan for Manchester United.

“What I’m told he wants is a player who is better than what he’s got at the moment and they don’t see Ozil as being better than what he’s got in terms of that central, creative, attacking midfielder.

“Where he does want to recruit is in a faster wide player which isn’t Ozil’s forte.

“I think it’s unlikely that’s the club he ends up at when he has his freedom on contract in the summer.”

Ozil failed to attract concrete interest from any top club in the summer transfer window and Castles claims that Utd aren’t interested in the German will be a big blow to his representatives, who are looking to use interest from rival to hold Arsenal to ransom during transfer negotiations.

In my opinion, I think Ozil will end up signing a new contract at Arsenal, his representative is just doing everything possible to get the best possible deal for him and I believe both parties will strike an agreement in the next few months.

Mesut Ozil Using Man Utd’s Links To Negotiate Massive Wages From Arsenal

It’s mixed news to report regarding the contract situation of Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil.

Of late, while there have been no news to report regarding any progress on an extension for the German international who is into his last year of his contract at the Emirates, Gooners began to fear the worst about the possibility of losing their star midfielder on a free at the end of the current campaign.

Recent reports have now disclosed encouraging news albeit with a slight concern on the Ozil situation.

Whilst it has now been reported that Arsenal are indeed in negotiations with the German’s representatives about a new long term deal, the player’s camp are however making use of rivals Manchester United’s interest to demand for astronomical wages for the World Cup winner.

According to the Mirror via Daily Cannon, Mesut Özil’s advisors reportedly used Manchester United in the last round of contract negotiations with Arsenal, in an attempt to get a better deal with the Gunners.

The report further states that although talks are still ongoing, the 28-year-old isn’t happy with the current offer from the Gunners, and has now shown that other Premier League clubs are willing to pay the wages he is demanding.

With the player edging closer to the end his contract, Arsenal must thread carefully to avoid another break down in negotiations.

Alexis Sanchez is already certain to depart the Emirates next summer, the possibility of losing the Chilean and Ozil in the same window for nothing is very scary.

Next summer is already shaping up to be a very crucial one for Wenger if Ozil is doesn’t agree to an extension, to say it would be difficult to adequately replace both World class players in the same window is an understatement.

Shock As Ozil Set To Sign For Manchester United, But Not In January

Manchester United are understood to be set to swoop for Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil at the end of the season.

The German international who is into the last year of his contract at the Emirates has been linked with a host of top European clubs.

Manchester United who have previously been credited with an interest in the player are now understood to be keen to sign the player on Bosman when his contract runs out at the end of the current campaign.

Jose Mourinho’s interest in the player comes as no surprise, the Portuguese boss arguably got the best out of him in their time together at Real Madrid as they won one La Liga and one Copa Del Rey in their time with the Spanish heavyweights.

With Ozil open to the idea of reuniting with his former boss Mourinho at Old Trafford, the Red Devils are understood to have made plans to sign the German up.

The independent via Daily Cannon initially revealed that Manchester United will make a move to sign Arsenal’s Mesut ozil on a free once he is able to speak to other clubs from January.

Mesut despite being in the final year of his contract can only speak to foreign clubs in the New Year. United (and any other English clubs) have to wait until the end of the campaign to negotiate with the midfielder.

Quick to note the error, the Independent then swiftly gave a more accurate statement regarding the situation by stating that United will make their move to sign the Arsenal star on a free when his contract ends at the end of the season.

With no news to report regarding any progress on a contract extension for the 28-year-old, Wenger seems set to lose the player at the end of the current campaign.

If losing him for free isn’t bad enough, losing the World Cup winner to a direct rival would definitely be a bitter pill for Wenger to swallow.

The potential exit of the World Cup winner coupled with the nailed on exit of Alexis Sanchez next summer means Wenger is set to lose his star duo for nothing at the end of the current campaign.

Next summer is already shaping up to be a very crucial one for the gaffer as it would be difficult to adequately replace them in the same window.

Jose Mourinho is desperate to sign Alexis Sanchez but is wary of City’s interest.

Sanchez contract’s expires at the end of the season and apparently doesn’t want to sign a new deal with the club.

Paris Saint Germain, Inter Milan and Manchester City have been linked with the forward in recent weeks and Manchester United have now joined them.

City are the club with the most interest in Sanchez, having tried to sign him in the summer and Man Utd believe their rivals remain favorites to sign the winger.

Mourinho closesly monitored Sanchez’s situation in the summer and has continued to do that but the Independent via the Express claim the Portuguese tactician thinks he is more likely to end up at City.

The Chilean’s situation at Arsenal have made fans nervous and it will be nice to see this resolved as soon as possible. However, where he ends up will be a cause of concern for fans.

Gooners wouldn’t want Sanchez to join any of the Manchester clubs and would prefer him to move abroad to avoid playing against him in the future.

Chelsea could make a move for Alexis Sanchez when the transfer window reopens in January.

The Blues are big admirers of the forward  and were one of the clubs that were first linked with the Chilean in the summer but had to turn attention elsewhere when other clubs joined the race.

Sanchez is in the final year of his contract and is expected to leave the Emirates next summer, having failed to reach an agreement over a new deal.

And Chelsea are believed to be keeping tabs on his situation and will be there to make a move if the opportunity presents itself.

The Blues are not the only ones watching the winger with keen interest as Paris Saint Germain, Manchester United, Inter Milan and Manchester City are all interested.

According to The Mirror via the Daily Star, Chelsea could make a move for Sanchez after its thing squad depth was laid bare by Morata’s injury.

The Spaniard is out with an hamstring injury and there are reports he could miss the next six to eight weeks. Conte now has only Michy Batshuayi as the only centre forward in the squad and signing a new striker could now be a necessity.

Sanchez would be a great option, considering he can play anywhere across the front three but it’s not going to be an easy deal to pull off because of the salary he would command and the number of big clubs interested in signing him.

Any bid from Chelsea in January is likely to spark a bidding war which could play into the player’s hands, giving him the opportunity to ask for a huge pay cheque.

Almost Done: Arsenal January La Liga Star Target Set To Agree Deal

Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga who has been heavily linked with Arsenal is set to sign a new deal with the La Liga club.

It’s been claimed that Manchester United and Arsenal are looking to sign Arrizabalaga when his contract expires at the end of this season but any hope of that happening is set to be dashed as the player is now closing in on a new contract at Bilbao.

The Spanish U21 has been compared with David De Gea, meaning he is the next big thing in the La Liga, so it won’t have been possible for Bilbao to let him go without a fight.

It appears they have won the fight to keep the talented goalkeeeper as the Daily Cannon are reporting the Spanish club is willing to pay the goalkeeper around £2.7m yearly in a bid to keep him out of the reach of the big clubs circling around already.

They will also include a huge £66.5m release clause which is almost seven times the £8.8m clause on his current contract.

Should Arrizabalaga sign the new deal, Arsenal and Manchester United will have to work hard to sign the goalkeeper because Bilbao can be very difficult to negotiate with and having such a mammoth clause in the player’s contract mean breaking the world record transfer fee for a goalkeeper.
