Arsenal have been reported with an interest in signing Sporting Lisbon defender Cristiano Piccini.

The right-back has been very impressive during the opening stages of the season, helping Sporting maintain an unbeaten start to the Primeira Liga after eight rounds of matches thus far this season.

The Gunners who are understood to be monitoring the 25-year-old however have London rivals West Ham United for company in the race to sign the player.

With Carl Jenkinson on loan at Birmingham City and Mathieu Debuchy set to leave Arsenal, Hector Bellerin is currently the only natural right sided defender available for selection in the senior squad and that goes a long way in explaining Wenger’s interest in the fullback.

Despite Piccini only agreeing a new five-year deal with Sporting as recently as July, Portuguese outlet A Bola via Daily Cannon have revealed that Arsenal and West Ham are both interested in signing the defender.

The Italian is yet to receive a call-up for his country’s senior squad but he did represent them at the under21 level back in August 2013. However, with his current form it seems a matter of when and not if Gian Piero Ventura will change his mind about calling him up for the Azurri.

Piccini would be a very good addition to the squad as he would seamlessly slot into the Gunners passing game while his attacking ability would make him an ideal fit for the wing back role.

With the Gunners currently one Bellerin injury away from a potential crisis, Wenger should be looking to beat the Hammers to ensure Piccini arrives in the North part of London.

Olivier-Giroud

The Oliver Giroud rumors seem to be going nowhere as the Arsenal striker has this time being linked with a move to Italy, with giants Inter Milan and Juventus understood to be interested.

Following the summer arrival of Alexandre Lacazette, the 30-year-old who decided to remain at the Emirates was then linked with a host of clubs with Everton rumoured to be chief amongst them.

It’s the Serie A duo that are now understood to be monitoring the striker’s situation at the Emirates with the plan of swooping for him next summer.

Juventus apparently want more attacking options despite Mario Mandžukić signing a new contract, which takes him up until 2020 with the Serie A club while Inter want another striker as Mauro Icardi is the only one they have got at the moment.

According to Calciomercato via Daily Cannon, Juventus and Inter could move for Giroud next year if Everton fail in their attempts to sign him.

The French international who has been a victim of the Gunners strength in depth in attack may be very well tempted by a move away from the Emirates as he is yet to start a Premier League game thus far this season.

Though Giroud continues to divide opinion amongst Gooners about his ability to lead the line, there is however no argument over his finishing ability as the striker recently scored his 100th Gunners goal during the Europa League win over BATE Borisov last month.

The French forward has recently fallen behind teammate Lacazette in the pecking order for the French squad, should he miss out on the French squad heading to Russia for the World Cup next summer, he may very well decide to quit the Gunners next year.

The striker who has developed the habit of impacting games from the substitutes bench will surely be missed if he moves on next year.

The French forward who has recently fallen behind teammate Lacazette in the pecking order for the French squad recently said he feels his decision to remain in North London was the right one.

“I had the opportunity to leave [Arsenal],” he told French TV station Canal Plus .

“I was very close to another English club, Everton. But I think I made the best choice.”

The striker is however understood to be considering a move away next year and should he miss out on the French squad heading to Russia for the World Cup next summer, he will definitely quit the Gunners next year, the striker who has developed the habit of impacting games from the substitutes bench in recent times will surely be missed if he moves on.

Szczesny Blasts Arsenal In Latest Rant

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny says he chose to join Juventus rather than staying at Arsenal because he wants to win trophy.

Szczesny completed a shock move to Juve in July and many questioned his decision to go play second fiddle to Buffon rather than challenge Cech for a spot in Arsenal’s first team.

Prior to the move, the goalkeeper wanted assurances from Arsene Wenger over his involvement in Arsenal’s first team, so many of us were surprise to see him go sit on Juve’s bench.

He has now revealed the flimsy reason for choosing the Italians.

“I chose Juve because I need to win everything, here is a great mentality that makes a difference every day,” he said, as reported by the Daily Cannon.

“Inside the dressing room I feel stronger and quicker. It was a normal choice: when Juve calls you, you have to go, and I’m very happy. (Paulo) Dybala is out of this world, among the best around, right after (Leo) Messi, (Cristiano) Ronaldo and (Robert) Lewandowski.”

Szczesny’s comment may be considered a sly dig towards Arsenal but I think the goalkeeper is just trying to justify his decision to go sit on Juve’s bench until Buffon retires next summer.

Italian giants Inter Milan are set to rival Arsenal for the signature of Atlanta United playmaker Miguel Almiron.

The attacking midfielder who is very highly rated in America was recently ranked as the top player in the MLS’ list of 24 players under the age of 24.

So far this season, Almiron has nine goals and a further eight assists to his name, little wonder he is often described as the heartbeat of the Atlanta team.

With no news to report regarding any progress on a contract extension for Mesut Ozil, the German could be set to join Alexis Sanchez in departing the Emirates in one of the next two windows, Wenger is understood to be monitoring a few top talents capable of making an impact in North London.

Recent reports emanating from Italy have revealed that Wenger is interested in making a January move for the vastly creative midfielder in the New Year having been impressed by numerous scout reports.

According to Calciomercato via Daily Cannon, Almiron could soon be on the way to Europe with Arsenal and Inter Milan both interested.

The report further states that the 23-year-old is currently valued around £18million, a fee Arsene Wenger would be very comfortable with.

The Paraguayan international primarily plays as a central attacking midfielder but is also adept at playing from the wings. Almiron has 10 caps for Paraguay thus far and has been a part of their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Should Almiron arrive the Emirates in January, it would be interesting to see the impact he would have immediately. Whilst he has obviously been impressive in the MLS, the Premier League is a massive step up.

Boss Confirm Club is Ready To Double Wage Offer To Sign This Brazilian Star

Chelsea believe they can sign Alex Sandro in the new year, according to reports in Italy.

The Blues are being linked with the Brazilian again, having failed to sign him in the summer.

It’s being claimed Conte is unhappy with the club’s inability to sign the defender and in a bid to please the manager, club chiefs are ready to pull all stops to sign him in January.

Corriere Dello Sport via Tribal Football say Chelsea are determined to sign the Brazilian and will table a bid in the winter transfer window.

Juventus are in talks with Sandro to over a new deal but Chelsea are hoping negotiations continue to stall between both parties until the new year in order to hijack the deal.

It would cost Chelsea more than the £73m that was reportedly turned down by Juventus in the summer.

The report further stated Tottenham’s Danny Rose has been lined up as a contigency plan, if Sandro continues to prove difficult to acquire.

How a club can be confident of signing a player in January, which is a more difficult window, when it couldn’t do that in the summer is beyond me.

Even Rose too, would be difficult to sign, as Tottenham won’t be interested in doing business with a rival.

In my Opinion, both players are unrealistic targets in January, their club won’t let them leave and also they will be cup-tied if they join us. We didn’t act with intent when we were supposed to, so we may have to wait until next summer before we strengthen this position.

Confirmed By Daily Mail: Arsenal Star Target Agree To Sign Massive Deal

Alex Sandro is set to sign a new deal at Juventus, according to Juve’s chief executive Giuseppe Marotta.

Arsenal and Chelsea made the defender a priority target in the summer but Juventus weren’t willing to sell him.

Several attempts to convince the Italians to sell the defender were fruitless, so Chelsea had to go into the season without a credible back up for Marcos Alonso.

It is believed that Chelsea still retain a strong interest in the defender but any hope of signing him in the nearest future is about to be dashed as the defender closes in on a contract renewal at Juve.

Speaking to Gazzetta Dello Sport, as reported by the Daily Mail, Marotta has revealed that two of their top players, which includes Sandro, are in line for a new deal.

“Paulo [Dybala] himself has asked for it [a new deal], we will be renewing soon and we will also extend the contract of Alex Sandro.”

Sandro’s current contract expires in 2020 but the Turin giants want him to pen a two year extension, which will see him contracted to them until 2022.  He is also expected to be rewarded with a considerable increase in his salary from € 2.8 million-a-year to €5 million-a-year.

Chelsea fans won’t be too happy with this development as most of us want the club to go back in for the Brazilian. A new deal would end all hopes of getting him.

Arsenal are one of the clubs monitoring Bologna midfielder Godfred Donsah, according to the player’s agent.

The 21 year old has been in fine form for Bologna and that hasn’t gone unnoticed as big clubs are now keeping an eye on him.

According to his agent Micheal Authur has revealed Inter Milan and unnamed English clubs are interested in the midfielder.

While they are yet to receive an official bid for the midfielder, Authur believes interested clubs could soon launch a bid.

“It’s no coincidence that it’s not just Inter who are following him, a lot of clubs in England and Russia like him, but they’d have to convince Bologna to give him up, then talk to me. Do Inter want him? None of the directors have contacted me because I’m in Ghana at the moment, but it seems clear to me that the Nerazzurri are thinking of signing him.

“Could it happen in January? He’s a key man for [Bologna manager Roberto] Donadoni… but I think it’s possible. Inter are a top club and everyone wants to play for such a prestigious team.”

Donsah was first linked with Arsenal in 2015, when he was still a teenager and has continued to progress at a decent rate.

It is likely that Arsenal are one of the unnamed English clubs interested in the midfielder and could now be tempted to launch a bid.
