Chelsea and Arsenal have moved ahead in the race to sign Karim Benzema with reports suggesting that the two London clubs have both made offers for the Real Madrid striker, according to the Daily Star.
Benzema has struggled in a Real Madrid side that has been disappointing at best this season, scoring only twice in the league.
The 30-year old’s form has not turned away the attention of Antonio Conte and Arsene Wenger who have been long time admirers of the forward and are taking their interests a step further with bids for him.
However, reports from Spanish outlet Don Balon suggest that Benzema will snub both Premier League clubs in favour of staying in the Spanish capital.
The Frenchman is determined not to be forced out of the club despite the effort of those at the helm of affairs at the club looking to get him out of the way. He knows as long as Zinedine Zidane is manager, he is guaranteed of playing time.
Chelsea and Arsenal are both having a mini attacking crisis, with their record signing strikers Alvaro Morata and Alexander Lacazette both struggling of late, but then again, is the 30-year-old Benzema who has less than half the goal tally of each of those strikers this season the solution?
