The Atletico Madrid manager is a top target for the Blues as they sort to replace Antonio Conte who is expected to leave the club in the summer, as speculations over his future continues to grow.
Chelsea officials are in search of a top manager to replace Antonio Conte as the Italian has been struggling this season, and Simeone is their top target.
According to the Times Diego Simeone has made it clear that he won’t fancy a move to Chelsea, he would rather see out the remaining two and a half years left on his current deal with Atletico Madrid.
He prefers a Latin lifestyle and his limited English is another reason he would stay away from the English Premier League, however a move to Manchester United will tempt him if it comes up due to the stature of the club.
Incidentally, Jose Mourinho who is the current manager recently signed a contract extension that runs till 2020 which is the same time Simeone’s deal with Atletico will expire.
Chelsea also have Allegri, Ancelotti and Luis Enrique lined up as possible replacements, and will now turn their attention to trying to land them.
