Chelsea are set to renew their interest in Alex Sandro when the January transfer window opens, according to reports.
Conte chased Sandro all summer but Juventus weren’t interested in selling the Brazilian.
Several attempts by the Blues to convince the Italians to part with the defender were unsuccessful but it appears Chelsea haven’t given up just yet and will try again when the transfer window reopens in January.
Antonio Conte is believed to be unhappy with Chelsea’s inability to secure his top transfer targets and is said to be considering a return to Italy.
In a bid to appease the manager, Chelsea are set to make a £60m offer for Sandro.
According to the Mirror via the Daily Star, Chelsea chiefs want to ensure Conte has enough depth to challenge for the Premier League title, the FA Cup and the Champions League
Sandro remains top of Chelsea’s radar and believe his capture would appease Conte who is already attracting interest from AC Milan.
Recent reports in Italy are claiming the defender is close to signing a new contract at Juventus but there’s been no confirmation on that and if truly Chelsea are interested, they’ll remain confident of signing the Brazilian.
However, I don’t think a January move will be feasible, the defender will be cup-tied for the Champions League knockout stages if he joins in January, so I don’t see why he would want to change clubs mid-season.
