Chelsea have reportedly made an approach for AS Roma star Alessandro Florenzi ahead of a possible move this summer, according to the Sun

The Italian spent eight years in Roma’s academy before breaking into the club’s first-team in 2011. He has since played over 200 games for the Serie A outfit.

The Sun who cites Gazzetta dello Sport claims the Italy international is set for a summer exit following a breakdown in contract talks with his capital club.

Florenzi is said to be demanding double his current wage which is £1.5 to £3million-a-year before extending his deal past 2019 which Chelsea will be willing to match.

His current deal expires next summer so Roma may be willing to sell him now to avoid losing him for free in 2019.
