Schalke 04 will resist all bids for Leon Goretzka in the winter transfer window.
Arsenal are one of the clubs believed to be interested in Goretzka and there have been talks of suitors making a move for him in the new year.
However Schalke aren’t prepared to sell the midfielder and have stated they will rebuff all bids to sign him in January.
Schalke’s CEO Christian Heidel is quoted as saying in an interview with Sports Bild:
“For us, always, there were only two options – that Goretzka renews [his contract] or he stays until 2018.
“Selling him prematurely was never an option for us.”
Schalke has reportedly offered Goretzka a new deal worth a staggering £150,000 per week but are yet to get a response from the player.
It is only normal for the midfielder to consider his next move critically in order to make the right decision. He would be thinking if it’s time to take the next step of his career by moving to a big club or continue his development at Schalke.
Schalke know they stand a chance of getting huge fee for the midfielder when they eventually decide to sell him, after he’s signed a new deal and that’s why they are so keen to see him put pen to paper.
Other than that, they have no hope of keeping him for a long time, with the interest in his services already, they are going to lose him in no distant time.
