Liverpool are reportedly edging closer in signing £30m ($39.80m)-rated Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha, according to to the Mirror.
The Reds have been linked with a move for a new shot-stopper after Loris Karius performance last month in the Champions League final in Kiev.
Roma and Brazil goalkeeper Alisson has been the main target for Jurgen Klopp, but he looks set to join Real Madrid, while Jan Oblak is staying at Atletico Madrid.
Strakosha represents a far cheaper and younger option at age 23.
Strakosha only signed a new long-term contract with Lazio back in October, a deal that keeps him at Stadio Olimpico until June 2022.
And Liverpool would face competition for his signature from Bayer Leverkusen, it is said, after the Bundesliga club lost Bernd Leno to Arsenal this week.
Liverpool have also been linked with a host of goalkeepers including Jack Butland, Yann Sommer, Jiri Pavlenka and Nick Pope.
Lazio have been reluctant to let him go, but Liverpool have received a huge boost as the Serie A side have nearly completed a deal for Strakosha’s replacement, Silvio Proto.
