Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are set to rival each other for the services of Shakhtar Donetsk winger Bernard, according to the Daily Cannon.
Bernard is in a contract dispute with Shakhtar, which could pave way for a January move. The Brazilian’s contract expires at the end of the season and he has refused to sign a new deal.
To avoid losing him for nothing next summer, Shakhtar may become open to offers for the winger in the January transfer window.
And Arsenal are one of the three Premier League clubs being tipped to make a move for the winger.
It’s being claimed Shakhtar will be willing to accept as small as £11.5m for the winger.
The prices at which forwards are being sold these days makes such amount a great piece of business. Although Bernard isn’t the type of player that would get tongues wagging, he is one who can put in a decent shift on his day.
At 25, he is just entering his peak, hence I don’t think it would be a gamble if Arsenal do make a move for him especially at the fee being quoted.
However, there’s one thing that won’t make sense and that’s if we are being linked with Bernard as a replacement for Sanchez.
Every winger that Arsenal are linked with these days are considered the Chilean’s replacement.
The Brazilian isn’t at the level of quality required to fill Sanchez’s boots, so it would be silly if we are being linked with him as a replacement.
