Arsenal are reportedly interested in Brazil U17 attacking midfielder, Alan Guimarães but will not get the chance to sign him anytime soon.
Guimarães is attracting interest from top clubs in Europe, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United all believed to be interested in the 17 year old Brazilian who has a mammoth €50m release clause in his contract.
Guimarães currently plays for Palmeiras U17 team and is also a regular for Brazil’s U17 team.
Last week, it was claimed the youngster has verbally agreed a deal to join Madrid, while that might not be true, Palmeiras have quickly made a decision not to sell.
According to Globo Esporte via the Daily Star, Palmeiras have no intention to sell Guimarães. They want the teenager to continue his development with the club.
The Brazilian side believe Guimarães will stand a better chance of fulfilling his potential if he stays a little longer in Brazil.
Guimarães was one of the stars of South America U17 championships and it was in that competition that he caught the eye of his current admirers. He was also part of the Brazil team that reached the Semi-Finals of the ongoing FIFA U17 world cup.
Guimarães is a very talented lad and is expected to follow Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus as Palmeiras next big export.
