Arsenal and Manchester United are both keen on Brazil youngster Yuri Alberto, according to reports.
According to popular football tabloid the Sun, Arsenal and Manchester United have established contact with Alberto’s representatives.
Despite being 16, Alberto is already showing a lot of promise and Arsenal are unsurprisingly linked with the youngster.
The young striker who scored 51 goals in 35 league games for Santos youth team last season, is said to be valued at £37.5m. A huge sum of money for a teenager who hasn’t reached the age to sign a professional contract.
A source close to the player told the Sun, as quoted by the Daily Cannon:
“He is the new star of Brazilian football. He is very exciting and a lot of teams are looking at him.
“United and Arsenal are very keen on Yuri. They watched him when Brazil played in England earlier this year.
“He has great technique and an eye for goal. The reports across the board have been positive about him.
“His agent has been contacted and told by both the Premier League clubs they will be watching him over the coming months.”
This isn’t the first time Arsenal are being linked with the teenager, as the reports were first circulated in April. It was stated at that time that we have made contact with the player’s agent, which makes it look like this story is just being recycled.
However, I won’t be surprise if Arsenal are really following Alberto with keen interest. His goal tally last season suggest he is some level above his peers, which makes him a special player. Arsenal have taken special interest in this kind of players in the past, so it could be Alberto next.
