Barcelona have joined Arsenal and Chelsea in the race to sign Napoli’s center back Kalidou Koulibaly, according to Italian daily Calciomercato.
The Senegalese international who has become one of the most talented center backs in the World has been linked to a number of European sides including Arsenal and Chelsea.
The Gunners defensive woes is no news and they have been looking to sign him for a while, but saw their chances of bringing him to the Emirates greatly reduce after failing to qualify for the Champions league.
The Blues on their part are looking to strengthen their own defence with Gary Cahill ageing and David Luiz set to leave the club after falling out with manager Antonio Conte, and they have been monitoring the 26-year-old Koulibaly.
Barcelona seem to have stolen ahead of both London sides in the race for the defender and have submitted a bid of €40 million plus Paco Alcacer, Andre Gomes or Denis Suarez as Gomes and Suarez are both targets for Napoli.
The player himself doesn’t seem bothered about the speculations surrounding his future, and he insists he is happy at Napoli.
Speaking in an interview, he said; “I don’t know how much I am worth, 120, 150, 60, I don’t know but these things always make me smile. It means that hard work leads to results, Napoli take care of me and it’s better to be loved rather than hated. I am ok, my family is happy and my parents are happy to see me there. Let’s see what happens in the future.”
