Alexis Sanchez contract situation would have been different, had Arsenal not lost 10-2 to Bayern in the Champions league last season.
According to The Times, the Chilean had agreed to sign an extension this time last year, but changed his mind when Arsenal got battered by Bayern Munich 10-2 over two legs in the Champions League round of 16.
Arsenal were beaten 5-1 in both legs to record the worst ever result by an English side in the Champions League.
A few months after that, Alexis almost moved to Man City before Arsenal blocked the deal at the very last minute due to failure to land a replacement.
The 29-year-old now has 6 months left on his contract and is almost certainly joining Pep Guardiola’s side at the end of the season.
Man City might make a bid for him in January if they feel there’s a danger he might move to PSG.
Alexis Sanchez moved to Arsenal in 2014 for £30 million, and has lifted the FA Cup twice along with three Community Shields.
In my opinion it’s probably a good thing events turned out as they did, with how toxic his attitude has been both on and off the pitch added to how poor he has been perfoming.
