Barcelona could join Arsenal in the race to sign AC Milan forward Andre Silva, according to reports.
Last week, reports emerged that Arsenal are considering making a move for Silva when the season ends.
The Portuguese international who moved to Milan for a £33m fee has begun life in the Serie A excellently and is now attracting interest from a host of top clubs.
Two of Arsenal’s strikers Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud could leave at the end of the season and Silva is reportedly being lined up as a replacement for either of them.
However, we could face serious competition from Barcelona for Silva’s signature.
According to Corriere Dello Sport via the Mirror, Barcelona have been impressed by Silva’s performances since he moved to Milan and could now try to sign him.
Arsenal are long time admirers of the forward and was first linked with him when he broke into Porto’s first team in 2015.
Club scouts monitored him on several occasions when he was at Porto but somehow we allowed him join Milan without putting up a fight in the summer.
I would be surprise if Milan doesn’t reject any interest in the forward but you never can tell what will happen if we put in an official bid.
Having said that, I don’t think Silva will be leaving Milan anytime soon, considering they spent the whole summer assembling a squad capable of challenging for titles. They won’t want to destroy that by selling their key players and Silva would also want to be patient at the San Siro before jumping to another club.
