Chelsea are tracking Porto left back Alex Telles as an alternative for Juventus wing back Alex Sandro as Antonio Conte looks to sign a left back in January, according to the Metro.
Chelsea has been chasing Alex Sandro for a while, and made attempts to sign him for most of last summer without success, much to the frustration of manager Conte.
The Blues however have stepped up their chase for a left back to bring in during the January transfer window, and according to A Bola they have been tracking Alex Telles this season.
The 22-year-old Brazilian has been in sensational form for Porto with four assists to his name this season. he will also represent a cheaper option as he is valued at £22 million as opposed to the £50 million valuation Juventus were holding out for in the summer for Alex Sandro.
Conte has been looking for suitable competition and cover for Marcos Alonso, and the fact that he is about to let his only other option Kenedy leave on loan in January means a move for Telles in January is very much on the cards.
Chelsea had previously attempted to sign Alex Telles in 2014 but failed, his agent however has stated that he is hopeful of a move this time.
‘When he went to Galatasaray, we had an offer from Chelsea for Alex. But at the time, we had already confirmed a pre-contract with Galatasaray, and we could not go back.
‘But there was information exchange, last year too. And I believe that maybe one day he will play for Chelsea. I don’t know if it’s going to be this season or the next. But I feel like one day he can play for Chelsea.’ He told press.
