Antonio Conte believes Chelsea fans are beginning to see the best of Tiemoue Bakayoko.
The French midfielder joined Chelsea in the summer for about £40m after protracted negotiations with Monaco.
On his arrival, he was recovering from a minor surgery he had at the end of last season which eventually resulted to him missing Chelsea’s first game of the season as well as the whole of preseason.
Since his return against Tottenham, Bakayoko has continued to improve with every game.
And Conte says he is pleased with Bakayoko’s performances in recent weeks as he continues to adapt to life in the Premier League.
Speaking ahead of Wednesday’s Carabao cup game against Nottingham Forest, Conte said:
“Baka now has started to play. I think he is playing very well.
“Don’t forget last season he finished the season with surgery in his knee. Now he is in a good physical condition.
“He is starting to adapt himself in our style of football. I am pleased because I think these are good signs for us.”
Considering the face that Bakayoko didn’t have a proper preseason, I must say I have also been impressed by his adaptation to the Premier League. It’s still early days but it is easy to see that this guy will be telepathic with Kante in midfield for many years to come.
