Real Betis believe they will be able to sign Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere when the January transfer window opens, according to reports.
Wilshere has been heavily linked with a move away from Arsenal since the summer transfer window and the rumors don’t look like they will be going away anytime soon, even though he has managed to play his way back into Wenger’s plans. This is obviously due to the player’s contract expiring at the end of the season.
Wenger recently said a decision will not be made on Wilshere’s future until December but Betis are planing to make a move for the midfielder in the new year.
According to the Sun via the Daily Mail, the Spanish outfit are making an audacious bid to sign Wilshere and are confident of completing a deal.
Betis tried to sign Wilshere in the summer and hold a long standing interest in the midfielder.
Wilshere only recently forced his way back into Wenger’s plans after being sidelined at the start of the season. Injuries played a part in the midfielder’s predicament but he’s been able to get back and prove his worth with some scintillating performances in the Europa League.
With Ozil’s future still up in the air, Wenger wouldn’t want to lose Wilshere, so I expect the club to reject all attempts from Betis to sign him.
