The father of Arsenal and Liverpool target Nabil Fekir has debunked rumors claiming that the Lyon playmaker has agreed a deal with Liverpool, according to the Daily Mail.

Fekir has recently been rumored to have agreed a deal to join Liverpool this summer, but his father Mohamed Fekir speaking to the media denied such reports “Nabil in Liverpool, that’s wrong,” the senior Fekir said.

“I hear there are arrangements, stuff like that… I was surprised. I can deny this information right now. It’s not true. Otherwise Nabil would have told me right away; we are very close.”

Nabil also confirmed his father’s statement but didn’t rule out the possibility of a move elsewhere. “I read that I was already sent everywhere (smile). But as I said, I’m in Lyon, there are two games left and then we’ll see,”

“Anyway, I can guarantee you, for now, there is nothing. The president trusts me and I am very good at Lyon.”

The senior Fekir told the media (via Daily Cannon) in 2015 that “If [Fekir] leaves, it will be for Arsenal. It’s the only club that can enable him to progress, with Arsene Wenger.”

Nabil also listed Arsenal among six teams he’d like to play for. However, with Arsene Wenger leaving, it remains to be seen if the new manager will be able to convince the 24-year-old to move to the Emirates.
