According to The Sun, Arsenal have been told by Paris Saint Germain they can have forward Julian Draxler if they part ways with £40 million.

The Gunners have been tracking the German ace for a very long time, and have once again contacted the Paris club over his availability.

Arsene Wenger sees him as the perfect replacement for Alexis Sanchez who is likely to join Man City either in January or in the summer.

The Sun believes Arsene Wenger’s side are only willing to pay £30 million and the deal even depends on the sale of Alexis –who they may sell for £40 million if Man City makes a January bid.

Julian Draxler is highly rated among Europe’s elite and is only kept out of PSG’s starting line-up by the world’s most expensive player Neymar, which isn’t exactly a bad position to be in.

Arsenal needs him urgently for both his creative and goal scoring instincts. And the fact that Wenger sees him as a good replacement for Sanchez should see Arsenal cough up the additional £10 million to land him.

But then again, Arsene Wenger saw him as a replacement for Van Persie before he watched him move to Wolfsburg from Schalke.
