Antonio Conte is interested in taking Olivier Giroud to Stamford Bridge, according to reports.
Chelsea are rumored to be interested in signing a striker and now appear to be eyeing a move for Giroud.
The French striker has been linked with a move away from the Emirates since the arrival of Lacazette and it’s being claimed by some media houses that he will leave in the summer if he doesn’t become first choice here before the end of the season.
Giroud had the chance to join Everton in the summer but the Frenchman opted to stay at Arsenal to fight for his place.
Former Everton boss Ronald Koeman who was keen to lure him to Goodison Park recently spoke on how close Giroud was to leaving Arsenal but later decided to remain in London.
If Don Balon via Caught Offside is to be believed, Giroud may now have the chance of leaving Arsenal while he remains in London.
According to the report, Conte has asked Giroud about the possibility of moving to Chelsea.
The Chelsea chief was in attendance at the FIFA award ceremony that was held last week, where Giroud was also present and it’s being claimed it was in that ceremony the pair had the discussion.
Giroud may not be a starter at Arsenal now but there is no sign that he is unhappy to the extent he will join a rival club.
In-short, his fortunes aren’t going to change if he moves to Stamford Bridge anyway, he is likely to play second fiddle to Alvaro Morata. So why would he want to leave Arsenal for Chelsea?
